As a District Advocate, it was important to me to communicate how certain pieces of legislation in place and suggested, affects us artists, producers, songwriters, and engineers in a small business capacity. Yes, to be clear, 99.9% of what we do is work for hire and we are essentially boutique. Small business is the backbone of this economy and it is important they are protected in law.
By the way, this is just ONE issue we talked about lol! If you are a music professional, it is mandatory you pay attention to these issues. Even as a music fan, you should know about this because this impacts how you're going to receive and support our art/livelihood.
