Watch: 405 South & 10 West (Sunset Promo)

When I made the beat which became “405 South & 10 West,” this was exactly the colors I had in my head. The "Golden Hour", around 6:30pm LA PST during the Summertime. Coming down one of those freeways with the windows down and speakers on blast. It acts as a transitional piece from “Angels Flight” to “Conversation.” Think of it when you see a play; the lights go out, and the stage had to be reconfigured. Pete Rock is master of that technique on Hip-Hop albums. The Soulaquarians utilized this technique very well too. We couldn’t figure out anything to write to it, but I still wanted to include because it sound like nothing else on the record. A OutKast "Spottieottiedopaliscious” kind of vibe to me. So that’s how it became an instrumental interlude. Take a trip down 2 of LA’s most well known (and most hated, depend who you ask and at what time of the day lol!) on "The B.L.A.C.K. Odyssey". Available now on all digital music outlets and as well as physical CDs on sale in our store!
