Made In America (A H.F.P. Films Documentary)

My only criticism of Black History Month (other than it landing on the shortest month of the year), is I feel its public programming limits the full spectrum of the contributions of Black Americans to the United States. Ever since I was in elementary school, I knew these achievements in excellence exceeded the same stories we would hear every February of civil rights leaders, athletes, and entertainers. There had to be more stories to tell. In particular for me, the discipline of inventing is where I always wanted to deep dive to find more of these stories to tell.

This documentary short film you are about to watch is the result of 20 plus years of dialogue between my Moms, my late Grandmommy, and myself. This is a narrative I always wanted to contribute to the Black History (A.K.A. American History) conversation, but did not have the skill set or knowledge to do so until recently. These are the stories of unsung Black American inventors and how their genius has greatly impacted all of our lives. Born in Black, baptized in blood, creatives in commerce. Made In America.
